Entry 1, Common Experiences
This quote, made famous by Willa Cather, to me is not true, or atleast it does not apply to my life. I don't believe that people only have two or three different stories to tell in their whole lifetime. They must have different types of stories, alot of varieties of stories they can tell. Not everything will be revolved back to them having a broken heart, or being very happy because he won. I believe people do tend to retell similar types of stories over and over again. Even if it has happened to them before, they still keep telling and telling it. This to me applies and makes alot more logical sense. Examples of repeated formats of stories would be like, losing a loved one, and feeling heart broken when you know every one of your relative will pass on and sooner or later you will too. Or saying I lost love, and the heartbreak was never this bad, I believe that people just forget their experiences under that moment. I believe that there are more than two or three types of stories, two or three is too little, makes me feel as if Willa Cather was exaggerating about how people don't tell new patterns of stories. To me, I would say roughly 5-10 types of stories in an average person's life. These things always gets thrown at me, and I figured this could be one of those things where people just tend to believe in because it was a popular quote, or because it made a little bit of sense to it. No, I full heartily believe that there are alot more than two or three types of stores.
